“Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!” So begins the legendary refrain from one of the most successful works in theatre history, the musical Cabaret. This year, Cabaret celebrates 60 years since its Broadway premiere in 1966 and 5 years on the stage of Prague’s Divadlo Bez zábradlí, in a production directed by Adam Skala. Cabaret seduces audiences with its glitter, music, eroticism and uninhibited atmosphere – a world where life is lived to the fullest, as if the night could never end. Beneath its dazzling surface, however, lies a message that remains as relevant as ever: a reminder of how precious, intoxicating and, at the same time, fragile freedom can be.
This autumn, Cabaret celebrates its five-year anniversary at Divadlo Bez zábradlí, and international audiences can now enjoy the production as well. From October 14, all performances of Cabaret will become English friendly and will feature English surtitles. In this legendary jazz musical, accompanied by the energetic live band led by Jakub Šafr, audiences can see Michaela Tomešová or Rozálie Havelková as the spirited cabaret singer Sally Bowles, while Kryštof Krhovják takes on the role of the iconic and provocative Emcee of the legendary Kit Kat Klub. The production features wild and dynamic choreography by Jana Burkiewiczová.

About the Production
An iconic jazz musical in a unique production by Divadlo Bez zábradlí, featuring live music by Jakub Šafr and his orchestra. Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome! Welcome to the legendary Berlin Kit Kat Klub, where you can leave all your troubles behind! Outside, the famous decadent 1920s are coming to an end, but inside the club, the dancing never stops. A young American writer named Cliff arrives in Berlin and meets Sally, a young dancer and singer at the Kit Kat Klub. The two grow closer, and what appears to be a carefree love story begins to unfold – but history has inexorably moved into the 1930s, and before long the Nazis will seize power in Germany.
Troubles are coming – and these are not so easily left behind.
